The Maquet HCU 40 heater/cooler system from the Getinge Group is used to warm or cool a patient to maintain a specific temperature during cardiovascular interventions. This Maquet heater/cooler system features 2 separate water circuits with temperature regulation that are connected to the oxygenator/heat exchanger or the warming/cooling blanket. Temperature-regulated water flowing through the oxygenator/heat exchanger is where the heat exchange occurs. The Maquet HCU 40 allows both water temperatures for the heat exchanger and the warming/cooling blanket can be independently regulated. It can be set from 33.8°F to 104.9°F (1°C to 40.5°C).
